Foundation Goal
In 1968, James Rix was the first African American student to sign an athletic scholarship to play basketball at Emmanuel College. Today, with the help of his coach Lloyd Turlington and teammates of the junior college era, James looks to give back to the school that gave him an opportunity through the Turlington Rix Scholarship Foundation.
The scholarship will be awarded annually to an individual who is interested in attending Emmanuel College who meets the scholarship criteria.
